This project uses an Arduino Micro to read a Thermistor and display the values to a Parallax 16×2 LCD Screen. If the temperature exceeds a setpoint, the alarm on the Parallax will alert the user. Special thanks to the folks that contributed to the Parallax library that is included with the project and is only needed if using the Parallax LCD.
The code assumes that you have the Beta value of the Thermistor and uses a simplified Steinhart-Hart model. The Thermistor was R2 in a simple voltage divider circuit, with R1 being a 1kOhm resistor. The voltage across the Thermistor was digitized and input into the Thermistor model to yield the results.
Additional code was used to split the mantissa and significand up for easy display on the Parallax LCD.
